For more than 25 years, Amy has been a visionary champion for improving health equity, reducing disparities and addressing social determinants of health. Amy has an unusual ability to bridge disciplines and sectors, and to communicate with professional and lay audiences, from the boardroom to the church pew. Nationally known for her work over the last 8 years in digital health equity, Amy is now helping many organizations leverage the full potential for online service delivery by reaching digitally underserved populations.

Moreover, the educational material from last week was eye opening. Specifically, the connectivity disparities directly caused by decades of discrimination is infuriating. I attended a health equity talk on MLK day by Dr. Agnes Binagwaho. After speaking with her, she indicated to me that one of the best ways to battle health disparities is by giving agency to the community. I brought up broadband in particular and internet access since at least 10-15% of our students still lack the resources for effective distant learning.
